A Little Christmas in August

It is hot. It is humid. It is still very much August in Florida. Nothing outside is remotely suggesting that Christmas is on its way.

And yet this weekend, I walked into a store and found myself surrounded by brand-new Christmas decorations. 

Bows. 🎀 Ornaments. 🎄 Sparkle. ✨

Entire aisles of things that absolutely do not belong in 90-degree weather. And it was exactly what my heart needed.

There is something about seeing all of the Christmas decorations for the first time each year that makes me ridiculously happy. Everything is new. There are still treasures to discover. For a few minutes, I can imagine how special the holidays will be this year.  I wander the aisles imagining what Christmas could look like this year.

This trip even had a purpose. We have some new Merry Sparkles product photos coming up, and I needed a few pieces for the shoot. I found decorations that are going to be absolutely perfect.

But mostly, it was just fun. A tiny dose of Christmas magic in the middle of August. And sometimes, that is all you need.

If Christmas makes you happy too, I hereby give you permission to wander the Christmas aisle whenever you find one. Even if you’re wearing flip-flops.
